Kim Kardashian is doing her part to help those affected by last week’s deadly typhoon in the Philippines.
Her pretty small part, that is.
The reality star announced on her blog Thursday that she’s auctioning off clothing on eBay, with the money raised being sent to a charity that benefits those in this ravaged area.
A very good idea and a very good cause, right? Absolutely.
But Kim fails to mention the fine print on the auction pages: only 10 percent of the final sales price will go to the International Medical Corps.
“The proceeds will go directly to the communities they’re serving in the Philippines and will help typhoon survivors get access to medical care and ultimately save lives,” Kardashian writes on her Celebuzz blog.
“My prayers and thoughts are with those affected by the typhoon. Check out my eBay auction and support those who need out help in the Philippines.”
To learn more about the International Medical Corps, you can visit internationalmedicalcorps.org.
And you may wish to simply give directly to that charity instead of lining Kim’s pockets with 90% of your purchase from her auction.
Really. Hasn’t she made enough off the Kim Kardashian sex tape already?
Saturday Night Live Mocks Kim Kardashian & Kanye West, Presents “Waking Up with Kimye”
Celebrity News
Saturday Night Live took aim at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West this weekend.
In a skit titled “Waking Up with Kimye,” the show made fun of Kanye’s claim that he’s a genius, along with his belief that Kardashian actually possesses talent of any kind, let alone groundbreaking talent that ought to be admired in any way, shape or form.
We were also treated to a performance of triangles by The Kardashian 11, segments titled “Kim Wore It Better” and “What Kim Made” and Lady Gaga as an Apple store employee.
A few months later, Kanye West is scheduled to go on tour.
And while the dates/locations are yet to be announced, Kim has reportedly made up her mind: she and the baby are joining their man across the country, possibly even the globe.
The decision is being met with both praise (Way to keep the family together!) and skepticism (Who travels from city to city, hotel to hotel, with a newborn?!?)
So much for a pretend elopement. Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush have now gone through a fake breakup.
According to Life & Style, Bush has “been seeing” a Kim lookalike, despite the fact that Kardashian believed these two would give it another shot after she divorced Kris Humphries.
“Reggie’s her one true love,” an anonymous friend told the tabloid. “He could easily fire things up with Kim now, but he’s chosen not to.”
But don’t cry too hard for Kim, people! Star Magazine claims she has many other options, namely a Saudi billionaire who gave her his phone number when she was in Dubai last November.
“She wants to be taken care of,” a source tells this magazine. “She’s done being a sugar mama.”
In other Kim news from this week: She’s a freak in bed!
The natural position of Kim Kardashian is standing up tall, chest out, on the red carpet of Las Vegas.
So we suppose the reality star has a point when she blogs that she appears on this month’s cover of Allure with a “very low-key, natural look!” See what she means here:
Kardashian is supposedly mascara free for the shot, as makeup artist Fulvia Farolfi tells the magazine that “Kim is a natural beauty. So we wanted to show her as naturally as possible, like she had just come back from the beach.”
Ummm… by definition, doesn’t that mean they made her up? We somehow doubt this is the way Kim looks when she wakes up in the morning, but we’ll have to get our hands on Ray J’s video to be certain.
The freshness of spring, the sensibility of winter. Jessica Alba’s look is the perfect one for that transitional time between seasons. We’re longing for bright colors during the winter doldrums, so her striped tank and Kelly green blazer are a welcome burst of color on a gray day. And although Alba’s look is full of springtime color, the coverage of the blazer and dark wash of her flared denim ensure that her outfit is winter appropriate. Finished with a funky wedge, this outfit is a playful, yet mature take on streetwear. Steal Jessica Alba’s style with these transitional pieces:
1. Alice + Olivia Savannah Platform Wedge ($295)
Perhaps the only non-transitional piece, these sandal wedges are for West Coasters and Southerners now, but perfect for Northerners on spring break. Bring on the bling with these gold foil-covered platforms and patent leather straps.
2. J Brand Kiki Flare in Monaco ($127)
Fabulous flares. The dark, rich hue of this Monaco wash will take you through any season, but especially from winter to spring. J Brand’s Kiki jean is an amazing flare with a high rise to show off your curves and a long, belled leg for a true throwback vibe.
3. BB Dakota Auburn Striped Tank ($48)
Stunning stripes. Pair with cut-offs for summer, but layer it up now. This tank shines with its sateen finish and sexy crossover back panel. Laid-back luxe at its finest, this tank goes from beach to brunch.
4. Alice + Olivia Elysee Blazer ($367)
A bold blazer is a great way to liven up a winter wardrobe. Layer over a tank and jeans for Jessica Alba’s chic street look, or bring it to the office with a trouser and button up. Classic cut with notched collar, front flap pockets, and one-button closure.
Kim Kardashian rocks a long side braid
Celebrity Hairstyles
Kim Kardashian looked somewhat casual (by her standards, at least) with her long black hair in a side braid thta hung over one shoulder as she volunteered at the 75th anniversary of the Los Angeles Mission serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless.
She wore a cute fitted buffalo plaid jacket over the Mission apron.
