Democrat Tim Kaine and Republican George Allen are currently running a tight and contentious campaign for Virginia’s open seat in the U.S. Senate.

They’re both political heavyweights, but right on their collective tail is an insurgent, third-party candidate who’s surging in grassroots support.

That candidate is Hank the Cat. Bow down, bitches!

The official site of the Hank Senate campaign claimed in a press release Friday that the 9-year-old Maine Coon (52 in human years) has pulled ahead of Kaine.

In Facebook fans, anyway.

Despite entering the race just two months ago, Hank’s Facebook page boasts 14,141 “likes” whereas Kaine, the state’s former governor, has 13,913.

Kaine also hasn’t converted to Timeline yet, BTW. Way to stay in touch with the people.

Campaign manager Matthew O’Leary said Hank initially ran to expose “the farce that is our political system,” until the movement took on a life of its own.

“I do think, however, that Hank can be a serious contender in the race for the Senate seat in November, all comedy aside,” O’Leary said earlier today.

“Take note of how many people are willing to support a cat over seasoned veterans. We have no doubts we will also surpass George Allen in good time!”

Allen’s Facebook page has more than 43,000 “likes,” so Hank has work to do, but a lot can happen between now and November. Count him out at your peril.

No word if Hank’s political platform includes tough stances on FDA pet food regulations or illegal immigration of rodents from outside America’s borders.

As we previously discussed, Perks of Being a Wallflower initially received an R rating from the MPAA for “teen drug and alcohol use, and some sexual references.”

Like most movie studios do in this situation, Lionsgate appealed the rating. …and they WON!!! Emma Watson’s new movie now has that golden PG-13 seal which means more audiences and MORE MONEY!!!

Hmm we wonder what they had to sacrifice to get this rating though…

Amid a never-ending firestorm of controversy, Chris Brown was spotted leaving Tru Nightclub in Hollywood last night with girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

They look happy. Guess there’s no trouble in paradise … at least not yet.

Karrueche and Rihanna, Chris’ ex-girlfriend and recent collaborator, are said to be engaged in a war of words, Facebook messages and Tweets.

In case there’s any doubt where his heart is (at least last night):

Karrueche reportedly said earlier this week on Facebook, in what was seen as a jab at Rihanna, “I’m Angelina, you’re Jennifer. C’mon you see where Brad at.”

It’s starting to look like the aspiring model is right … and may be morphing into Rihanna, with her newly blonde hair and sharpened fake nails. Just saying.

There’s also this random Rihanna topless pic Tweeted yesterday. Which has nothing to do with this story, in all honesty, but still felt worth noting.

It’s official: Snooki is totally preggers!!! NOOOOO!

No, the Jersey Shore star is not married to Jionni LaValle. And, yes, she drinks both often and heavily. But people must stop giving this pint-sized trainwreck such grief says someone who has often held her hair back on the bathroom floor.

“It’s not like she’s 16 and pregnant,” Sammi Giancola told E! News. “She’s doing her thing, she’s living her life and I just think she’s blessed. I can’t wait to see a little guido or guidette running around. I just think it’s going to be so exciting.”

Whitney Houston may have died unexpectedly on February 11, but the singer at least had the good fortune to plan ahead.

In a 19-page document obtained by Inside Edition, it’s revealed that Whitney left absolutely everything to her teenage daughter. This includes personal wealth, furniture, clothing jewelry and cars.

The money will be placed in a trust – with Whitney’s mother, Cissy, serving as executor – until Bobbi Kristina, who turned 19 on March 4, is 21 years old. She then gets more cash when she turns 25 and the rest when she’s 30.

Houston initially drafted the will in 1993, but amended it to the current version in April 2000.

Bobbi Kristina, meanwhile, will sit down with Oprah Winfrey for her first interview since her mom’s passing this Sunday evening on OWN.

NBC announced today that The Voice will crown its season two champion on a two-hour live episode airing May 8. Moreover, the competition will expand to twice/week beginning on April 2, as performance episodes will air on Mondays and will be followed by one-hour result shows on Tuesday nights at 9 EST.

In other network programming news, Howard Stern will debut as a judge on America’s Got Talent a week after The Voice signs off.

A sex tape featuring wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has surfaced. Yes, really.

It’s currently being shopped to a major porn studio, and according to TMZ, it features Hulk getting undressed and a naked, unidentified brunette lying on a bed.

It is not clear when the Hulk Hogan sex tape was filmed, but the woman is not his ex-wife Linda or his current wife, Brooke Hogan doppelganger Jennifer McDaniel.

In the clip, Hulk pulls his shirt off and brags to his companion, “I started to work out again.” He then runs his hands through his blonde hair like he always does.
