Ellen Pompeo Spills “Grey’s” Scoop

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star opens up about the show’s upcoming crossover episode, the future of Cristina and Owen’s relationship and more. Listen in.

Carson Daly is still feeling the heat for comments he made yesterday morning on his radio show, and this time the source is the mother of a 9/11 hero.

Following Daly’s on-air joke that implied gay people were too weak to subdue an airline pilot – in this case, the JetBlue captain, Clayton Osbon, who simply lost control of his senses aboard a flight earlier in the week – Alice Hoagland has penned a letter to the host of The Voice.

Hoagland is the parent of Mark Bingham, one of the passengers on 9/11′s United Airlines Flight 93, who helped wrestle control from terrorists and crashed the plane in a Shanksville, Pennsylvania field, saving countless lives in the process.

“Yes, my gay son was known in our family for bringing me flowers on my birthday and Mother’s Day,” Hoagland writes. “He also was known for careening down the rugby pitch, and, on the morning of September 11, 2001, for charging unarmed down the aisle of a doomed Boeing 757 to face knife-wielding Islamist thugs in a hijacked cockpit.

“No one among his pick-up team of fellow passengers was asking ‘Are you straight? Are you gay?’ No one doubted that a guy who weighed 220 and stood 6’4” tall – who could run over a charging opponent on the field, and ran with the bulls in Pamplona earlier that summer – would be an asset to a desperate group trying to overcome a threat onboard an airliner.

“The world has its share of strong, heroic gay men. Gay men in sports uniforms and military uniforms have been winning America’s games and fighting America’s battles for a long time: quietly, humbly, and in the face of vicious bigotry.

“I hope you and I may have an opportunity to talk sometime. I prefer to believe you didn’t mean to offend. Good luck to you.”

Daly has since spoken to GLAAD and followed his Tweeted apology with the following statement:

We live in a time where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals find courage every day to overcome adversity, stand up to bullying and find equality. I’m truly saddened that my words today suggested otherwise. I’ve long been a supporter of Gay and Lesbian rights, and I’m saddened that my comments, however unintentional, offended anyone, specifically members of the LGBT community. The fact that I have hurt anyone is devastating. I’m not that guy. I’m proud to be an ally of the LGBT community and will continue to fight with them.

On a JetBlue flight from New York to Las Vegas yesterday, a group of passengers were forced to band together and subdue Clayton Osbon, a pilot who simply flipped out, behaving erratically, banging on the cockpit door and screaming out numbers.

On his radio show this morning, meanwhile, Carson Daly referenced the incident.

“Most of the people were on their way to some sort of security conference in Las Vegas,” he said. “It was like a bunch of dudes and well trained dudes… thank God.”

The Voice host then added, laughing: “With my luck, it would be like… ‘this is the flight going to [the gay pride parade] in San Francisco,’” changing his tone to sound more effeminate and saying: “Uh, we’re headed down to Vegas for the floral convention.”

The implication, naturally? Folks such as that would not have been able to bring down the JetBlue pilot.

A few hours after making the comments, Daly Tweeted an apology: “This morning on my radio show I attempted to make fun of myself & offended others by mistake. I sincerely apologize.”

Do you accept this apology? Do you think he should have made one?

Only Kris Humphries – and PETA – can paint Kim Kardashian in a positive light…

According to an E! News insider, a divorce settlement is yet to be signed between this briefly-married pair because the bruising NBA power forward is hoping to holdout for a payday beyond the offer on the table.

Kris Humphries on the NetsK. Kardashian

“Kris is dragging it out,” claims this Kardashian source. “Kim is ready to move on, but Kris is hoping that stretching it out will get him even more money.”

As has been previously reported, this mole says Humphries wants to bank $ 7 million from the split… or $ 1 million less than his one-year contract with the New Jersey Nets. In exchange, reports have said he’ll keep silent about supposedly damaging facts related to the failed union.

But “Kim never considered signing something like that,” this insider says. “Kris can’t take the time to consider [her] offer, but he finds time to do an interview with a tabloid magazine.”

Ohhh, zing! It’s important to keep this source in mind, too, of course. It’s E! Online. Which pretty much views Kim Kardashian and her family as its personal ATM.

Seriously, Kris, Kim and those at E! who promote these people make the Nets look like winners.

Lindsay Lohan to Guest Star on Glee!

Undeterred by her legal woes and recent mediocre performance on Saturday Night Live, Glee has been diagnosed with a serious case of … LINDSANITY!

Sorry. Some things just never get old.

The hit Fox series is in final negotiations with Lindsay Lohan to guest star this spring in one of the current season’s final episodes, according to reports.

She’ll be taking on a key role … herself!

Lindsay Lohan on Late Night

Once source material for the show – her mom chastised Glee and Gwyneth Paltrow for cracking jokes at her expense – LiLo will serve as a celebrity judge at Nationals.

No word yet as to who will join Lohan on the panel, although we would recommend Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian, with the latter getting flour-bombed.

The Glee gig will mark another step in Lindsay’s comeback, which began with a Playboy spread of all things. Her last scripted TV gig was a 2008 arc (!) on Ugly Betty.

She’s also in talks to play acting legend Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic. As for Glee, producers also recently landed Whoopi Goldberg as a big-name guest star.

Starbucks To Sell Single-Cup Coffee Makers!

Need your daily Starbucks fix???

Soon, you’ll be able to be your OWN barista and brew your own single-cup coffees!

This fall, Starbucks’ Versimo one-cup home coffee maker will go on sale online, at high-end specialty stores and EVEN at some Starbucks stores!

Unlike Keurig machines, Versimo can make espresso drinks too, not just coffee. Starbucks previously partnered with Keurig to sell K-cups for basic brewed coffee and in 2009, started selling Via Ready Brew instant coffee.

CEO Howard Schultz believes that these goods could one day be in direct competition with Starbucks’ actual cafes.

Will you be buying a Versimo this fall??
