When reports surfaced yesterday that Michelle Obama and the Queen of Qatar spent $ 50,000 on a shopping spree at luxury lingerie boutique Agent Provocateur, the White House just about issued one of their color-coded alerts.

Rumor had it that M’Obama and her royal gal pal closed down Madison Avenue and dropped $ 50k on high-end underwear. Not that we don’t believe the Obamas still have the hots for each other (let’s be real, it’s probably the most action the White House has seen since Clinton), but Mrs. O is usually spotted at stores like Target and H&M.

Although the report was deemed ridiculous by every reputable media outlet, the White House still decided to take the time (what else would they be doing?) to have Press Secretary Jay Carney issue a statement during the daily White House briefing. Yes, that’s right, Yale graduate and former Time magazine Washington Bureau Chief Jay Carney had to make a public announcement regarding the lingerie-buying tendencies of the First Lady.

The Press Secretary said, “In this case, it’s utterly false, and it’s irresponsible of an American news organization to repeat the story, even allowing that it could be true. So it’s wrong.”

When asked for legitimate proof that the story isn’t true, WWD reports that Carney merely stated, “I’m not going there.”

Do you think Michelle Obama would drop $ 50k on lingerie? Valentine’s Day is approaching, after all…

Enjoy Demi Lovato on Twitter while you can, folks. It’s unclear how long we’ll have her here.

About a week after the singer announced a break from the social network, she returned on January 27 in order to answer a few fans questions via Seventeen magazine. (She also dispelled a rumor that she had relapsed into rehab, Tweeting to not “believe the hype” and saying “All is well!”)

Demi Lovato: The People's Choice

Among the topics covered in Demi’s Twitter-based interview:

The next single from her album will be “Give Your Heart a Break.”

Her favorite role models include Kelly Clarkson, Eva Longoria and Rosario Dawson.

She likes most about her fans the fact that they “stick by [her] through everything.

Her biggest life lesson has been to never lose oneself.

Steal Jessica Alba’s Style

The freshness of spring, the sensibility of winter. Jessica Alba’s look is the perfect one for that transitional time between seasons. We’re longing for bright colors during the winter doldrums, so her striped tank and Kelly green blazer are a welcome burst of color on a gray day. And although Alba’s look is full of springtime color, the coverage of the blazer and dark wash of her flared denim ensure that her outfit is winter appropriate. Finished with a funky wedge, this outfit is a playful, yet mature take on streetwear. Steal Jessica Alba’s style with these transitional pieces:

1. Alice + Olivia Savannah Platform Wedge ($295)
Perhaps the only non-transitional piece, these sandal wedges are for West Coasters and Southerners now, but perfect for Northerners on spring break. Bring on the bling with these gold foil-covered platforms and patent leather straps.

2. J Brand Kiki Flare in Monaco ($127)
Fabulous flares. The dark, rich hue of this Monaco wash will take you through any season, but especially from winter to spring. J Brand’s Kiki jean is an amazing flare with a high rise to show off your curves and a long, belled leg for a true throwback vibe.

3. BB Dakota Auburn Striped Tank ($48)
Stunning stripes. Pair with cut-offs for summer, but layer it up now. This tank shines with its sateen finish and sexy crossover back panel. Laid-back luxe at its finest, this tank goes from beach to brunch.

4. Alice + Olivia Elysee Blazer ($367)
A bold blazer is a great way to liven up a winter wardrobe. Layer over a tank and jeans for Jessica Alba’s chic street look, or bring it to the office with a trouser and button up. Classic cut with notched collar, front flap pockets, and one-button closure.

Cynthia Nixon is trying to dig herself out of the hole she created with comments last week to The New York Times.

A few days after stating that, for her, homosexuality is a choice and that she did does care for the term “bisexual,” the former Sex and the City star has given a new interview to The Advocate. In it, she clarifies that her initial statements referred solely her story and added:

“I believe we all have different ways we came to the gay community and we can’t and shouldn’t be pigeon-holed into one cultural narrative which can be uninclusive and disempowering. However, to the extent that anyone wishes to interpret my words in a strictly legal context I would like to clarify:

“While I don’t often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have ‘chosen’ is to be in a gay relationship.”

Nixon concludes: “Our community is not a monolith, thank goodness, any more than America itself is. I look forward to and will continue to work toward the day when America recognizes all of us as full and equal citizens.”

The star’s original classification of homosexuality as merely an option created quite an uproar, with gay celebrity chef Cat Cora labeling the claim “dangerous” and asking for Nixon to address the younger members of this community in a more thoughtful, responsible manner.

She now appears to have done so.

SAG Awards Hair How-To’s

If you watched last night’s SAG Awards, then you know some gorgeous hairstyles made their way down the red carpet!

Jeff Vespa/Wire Image

Naya Rivera

Brian Magallones is the celebrity stylist behind Naya’s glossy curls. This classic hairdo was perfect for her glitz and glam dress.

To Get The Look:
Start by smoothing several drops of hair oil, like Amika Oil Treatment, throughout your damp hair and then blow hair to get it smooth and shiny.

Distribute a heat-resistant serum throughout the hair from the mid-lengths to ends to really protect hair from the heat of your curling iron and also to add another layer of shine.

Take a 1-inch section of hair and spray it with volumizing spray, and wrap it around the barrel of a medium-sized curling iron. Repeat this step until all of your hair has been curled.

Apply a drop of curl defining cream to hands and finger comb your waves to separate them. Give your head another once-over with hairspray to keep the look lasting all night long.

Rose Byrne

John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh created Rose’s glam hairstyle. He described it as “70s inspired with a modern twist. Think Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface meets a modern day Anna Wintour.”

To Get The Look:
“I needed to get a lot of lift at the roots. Without that, the look would just fall flat,” says Harry. To pump up your own roots, apply a lifting cream, like John Frieda target=”_blank”>Full Repair Root Lift Foam ($ 6.99), to wet hair.

Dry each section of hair with a natural bristle brush and angle the blow dryer down. Once hair is completely dry, put the hair at the crown up in velcro rollers to get maximum volume.

Sofia Vergara

Hair stylist Jenna Atkin wanted to give Sofia a hairstyle “that complimented her dress and earrings and went for a pulled back low pony with a 60s feel to it.”

To Get The Look:
Distribute a volumizing mousse through damp hair, like Tresemme Thermal Creations Volumising Mousse and use a blow dryer on the hair.

Curl the end of your hair with a 1 1/2 inch barrel curling iron before pulling it back into a smooth ponytail.

Use hairspray to tame flyaways, and add smoothing gloss for a shiny finish.

Jennifer Lopez In Alberta Ferretti & Valentino – ‘Q’Viva! The Chosen’ Promo Tour

Earlier today Jennifer Lopez was outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York City prior to her guest appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’.

She was there to promote her new reality show ‘Q’Viva! The Chosen’.

Striking a familiar divalicious pose, Jennifer wore an Alberta Ferretti beige wool wrap coat with fur insets.

She kept the rest of her look neutral by wearing embellished Jimmy Choo suede boots and a matching gold chain accented leather bag.

This morning she dropped by the Rockefeller Center to appear on the ‘Today’ show.

Opting for soft neutrals again, she wore a white fur coat and carried a white Valentino rock stud messenger bag.

In the studio we got to see her Valentino white tunic top which she paired with loose-fitting pants.

Whilst I love both of these classic Jlo looks, the Ferretti look is my favourite. You gotta love those shoes.

Are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie really headed down the altar soon?

That’s what could be expected, given Pitt’s recent comments about the pressure to – and his desire to – propose, but according to Jolie, that’s premature.

“I think anything said tends to be blown out of proportion,” Jolie told People Sunday night at the SAG Awards, when asked about “a lot of ring-talk lately.”

“Yeah, that was my fault,” Pitt admitted with a smile.

Guess we know who wears the pants in that house.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt at the SAG Awards

The speculation about wedding bells in the near future for the famous couple stem from Pitt’s remark that Brangelina is “getting a lot of pressure from the kids.”

“It means something to them,” he continued, adding that he would like to marry Angie, and that “We will [get married] someday, we will. It’s a great idea.”

“‘Please, get mommy a ring.’ ‘OK, I will, I will.’ ”

“It seems to mean more and more to our kids,” he said. “I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out … it means something to me, to make that kind of commitment.”

Probably not until Angelina demands it, however.
